Do you know the Presidential Candidates?

The other day at work, an employee asked me did I know who I was voting for? Surprisingly, I took a minute to think and did not have an answer. This had been the first time that I really thought about it and could honestly say to myself that not only did I not know who all the candidates were, but I did not know what they stood for.
What the saddest part about this is that I have voted before, and even then I didn't know what the candidate stood for. Am I the only one who does this? Probably not. I'm sure there are many people out there like me who basically lets the media decide there vote. At one point I said to myself "I'm voting for Obama because it's time we have a black President". But now as I really think about it, what do I know about him? Nothing. I don't know what he's for, or what he's against. I have been doing a little bit of research and so far I have learned that he is the only African American in senate (Illinois) and that his mother is a White woman. So obviously I have a lot more research to do.
We also have Mrs. Hilary Clinton, who I was also thinking about voting for because maybe it's time for a woman President. But again, I asked myself what do I know about her? I know that she's married to ex President Bill Clinton, she as well is on the Senate (New York) , and her husband cheated on her.

It may sound a little ignorant on my part but one thing I know for sure is that I am being honest. So what I ask of you who may read this is do your research before you vote.
Grateful: I am grateful for having the right to vote for whomever I do chose. There was a point in time when I would not have the right to vote because of my gender and my race.

No Regrets!

Today I watched a heart wrenching Oprah show where she had two guests that were diagnosed with terminal cancer. The weird thing is that even though they were told they didn't have much longer to live, these people were so full of life. I am a very emotional person, so as you can probably imagine I practically sobbed through the whole show. I cried not only for what these people were going through but for the fact that here I am totally healthy(at least I hope I am) and I'm not completely living my life. Don't get me wrong I am completely grateful for everything I have and accomplished. I have a wonderful family, one could not ask for a better one but I know that I have more to offer this world than going to work and coming home. I just have to figure that out.
My reason for writing this blog entry is just to get out there to people that tomorrow isn't promised to us. When that time comes for God to take us away let's not have any regrets. Because then it's too late for the shoulda's, coulda's, and woulda's. If you want to take your children to Disney World go ahead and make those reservations. If there's someone that you feel has done you wrong, pray to God and let him know that you forgive that person. Clear your heart of hatred it takes too much to hate people.
I have an Aunt who lost half of her leg because of diabetes and seeing her the other day made me realize how we take things for granted and that I should be thankful for everything I have from the hair on my head to the tips of my toes.
So I'm gonna end this blog and every other one here on after with something I'm grateful for, and if anyone else leaves a comment at the end please leave something your grateful for as well.

Grateful: I am grateful to have a mother and a father who love me unconditionally and who support me in any decision that I make.

Do you love New York?

She's back yall! This upcoming Monday "I love New York" will be on again. Are we excited, or are we tired of her? Probably not because it seems like we Americans love seeing people make a fool of themselves on television. I know I do.
Tiffany maybe a hot mess but you can't knock her for getting her hustle on. She definitely knows what it takes to make good television. Tiffany is the prettiest, ugly girl on TV (lol). She is definitely a character.
I hope that this season is as entertaining as the last. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I still think that she should have chosen Chance. You know crazy and crazier go together well. They would've been the new Bobby and Whitney (without the crack :).
I guess that thought wasn't so sweet huh? Peace Bitches!!!!!

Hood Boogas

Hood booga: What is a Hood Booga? Some friends of mine made a rapamentry about Hood Boogas, but I must admit at first I wasn’t sure of what it was. So yall know I had to get my research on. I googled it and found that a lot of people were using the term. What is a Hood Booga? Believe it or not we all know one (maybe two or three). In short a HoodBooga is a phony ass, wack ass girl who does some of the stupidest things that a girl can do, or a girl out for money. There are many type of Hood Booga’s out there. Ones that are obviously hood boogas and then you have the undercover hood booga, but trust me they are easy to spot. If you need a little help I’ll try to break down the different types for you to help you spot your neighborhood hood boogas.

Baby Mamma Hood Booga: Now this is a hard one to get rid of, because she is in your life FOREVER! She is going to nag the ish out of you. You going to get the “ Yo baby needs some milk, and pampers” call like every two days. Her new man might even be a drug dealer. Your child support is going to go towards her baby phat clothes, her new man’s Roca wear, and last but not least her weed habit. She won’t ever want to see you happy. She’s going to call your new girl and tell her how many times you have done her wrong and how bad of a man you are. Nothing you do will ever be good enough, mean while your baby is 18 and her mom is still on section 8. Yall get the drift

Regular NeighoodHood Booga: Now this is the easiest one to spot. This is the girl that you see chilling with all the hood dudes smoking blunts in the park, has no job, on welfare, no ambition in life. But you can’t tell her she aint the ish. This Hood Booga really feels that she is the baddest bitch on the block. Some of you guys will probably call her your home girl but you know she will never amount to nothing or ever be anything more than that (just a home girl).

High Class Hood Booga: Now this one is the hardest to spot. This Hood Booga may seem like the Baddest Bitch. She is going to appear to have it all. The cars, money, clothes, maybe even a good job. But beware 9 times out of 10 they weren’t bought by her because her credit is bad, real bad. This Hood Booga only messes with dudes who appear to have money, so that they can pay for her “luxurious” lifestyle. She may think she’s classy but class can’t be bought so you have to look for the signs. Check out her restaurant choices or even her home furniture. You can tell a lot by those things.
I know I may have missed a few categories but please feel free to post some of them. If you have any Hood Boogas sightings let me know. I’m always up for a good laugh!!!

Big Brother 8 finale

Is anyone as excited as I am to see the BB8 finale tomorrow night? Thursday's show where Dick and Daniele won was so emotional. The last time that I cried over a reality show was when Eva Pigford won America's Next Top Model. Even though there are many of you out there that don't like Dick and Daniele, I love them. They came into the house with alot of personal issues and they overcame them.
At this point it really doesn't matter who wins but I am still interested to see who America wants Eric to vote for. I even more excited to see everyone's face once they find out that Eric is America's player. Will Jess be upset with him or will she understand? I guess we will have to wait till Tuesday!

I'm better than you

Why is it that on most myspace pages I go to, all people tend to talk about is how they are better than the next person? People are constantly putting out messages "to their hatas", and how they have this and they have that. This is not what I signed up for. I honestly believe that if you are so fly and you have that much, one doesn't have to go so hard to prove it. Especially not on myspace. Can someone tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought myspace was a place to meet new friends and to stay in contact with current friends.I think that this is a huge problem with African Americans ( if you don't know already I am black). We constantly have to prove ourselves better than the next person. Don't get me wrong Caucasians and other races do this too, but it is predominantly seen on the African American pages. Here we have this huge forum where we can all communicate with each other world-wide and make some money and discuss new ideas but so many of us use it for negativity. Personally I don't care if you rock Seven jeans, and Manolo Blahniks with Christian Dior sunglasses. I don't want to be a hypocrite because I love those things too but why do we tend to let those things define us.I'm not saying that all pages are this way because they are not. Some of us are trying to build businesses and promote but I wish that more of us would join them. In the overly stated words of Rodney King "can we all just get along?". I don't know maybe I'm going off on a tangent about a subject that many people really don't care about but then again maybe there are some of you that do. All I'm saying is that we all could get alot further in where we want to be with more positivity than negativity. I'm not sure how many people have read the book or seen the dvd called the "Secret" but one of the main things I took away from it is that the energy you put out into the universe is the same energy that you will receive. So if your constantly putting out negative things that is the only thing that will come back to you. I'm far from perfect but all I ask is that we start putting out some positive things so that we can get that positive energy back into our lives.

The Hills

Okay if you can't tell by now, I'm sort of a reality show junkie. I may be dwellling a bit on the subject but I honestly can't get over the fact that Heidi is still with Spencer. I mean if she had watched season 1 wouldn't she see Spencer for who he really is. Maybe it is true that they are just having a "showmance" because that is the only thing that makes sense to me.
LC is the best. She is like the mama to her friends and some may see it as a little overbearing but she just doesn't want to see them get her. She has been through some heartbreaking relationships and knows what it feels like. Can you blame her for caring. I think her one true friend is Lo. I hope that friendship stays in tact.
By the way whatever happened to Kristen, and Steven? It would be great if they made a special appearance on this season. Right?

Losing Weight

Okay so I gave myself the very easy challenge of losing one pound a week. Am I wrong for only setting it to one pound? Should I be pushing myself for more? Actually I don't think that's too little. I believe that is what makes losing weight so hard. People do not set attainable goals and when they don't reach it they decide to give up. That is why I've set my goal pretty low. Because if I keep reaching my short term goals in the long run I would've completed my long term goal. I've already tried the yo-yo diets and don't get me wrong they work but now I've seemed to gain the weight back plus more and it's even harder to lose.

Big Brother 8 is Great

Why didn't someone tell me about this show sooner. As a reality show junkie, this one takes the cake (I think I need to go to rehab). My husband got me hooked on it. Now I fien for Tue.,Thur., and Sun., plus I also watch After Dark.
My favorite houseguest is Danielle. She seems to be the most focused. Even though I love him Dick may seem like a jerk to the average American. Zach is very dull, and boring but I also think it's possible that he can sneak on by and win this thing if he plays his cards right. Amber is a cry baby that needs to man up and take it. Eric is America's player. Jessica is just weak minded and doesn't know what she's doing. Finally, Jameka is just there. She gets along with almost everybody, she is not even a semi-strong player in the game (Amber is even more powerful than her). She's just taking up a spot. So who do you think is gonna be the winner of Big Brother 8.
